ADA Project Start Soon In Carroll And Chariton Counties

ADA and Sidewalk improvements on Route K in Keytesville will begin on Monday and on Route M in Bosworth on Tuesday.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the project is to help ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), funded in part through the Transportation Alternatives Program.  The project will also improve sidewalks in Bosworth, Hale, Keytesville, Mendon, Norborne, Rothville and Sumner.

Some lane closures will be necessary throughout the project, and motorists are encouraged to use caution and follow all traffic control, flaggers, signs and barricades.

Additional routes scheduled for ADA improvements include:

  • Rothville (Route EE)
  • Mendon (Route CC)
  • Norborne (Route D)
  • Hale (Missouri Route 139)

As a part of this project, Route E in Sumner was recently completed.

Once the sidewalk replacements are complete, crews will install signs and pavement markings.

The project is expected to be complete by late July.
