Livingston County Taking Steps Towards Requirements For Data Centers And Battery Storage

The Livingston County Planning and Zoning Board took the first steps Tuesday, in placing requirements and restrictions on any future Data Centers and Battery Storage Facilities in the county.  A Public Hearing was held Tuesday evening.  Board Chair David Beck explained this is a proactive measure for the county.

There is nothing going on with Data Centers.

County Zoning Officer Gil Gates presented the ordinance to be considered.

Other Counties have approved similar ordinances.

Gates talked about some of the requirements.

Requirements before building and funds deposited for future clean-up of the site.

The board approved sending the ordinance presented to them to the Livingston County Commission with a recommendation for approval.

The Livingston County Commission will have a public hearing on the ordinance in Thursday’s Commission meeting, starting at 10:00 am.
