More than 150 calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday, July 21
- Officers investigated two reports of possible intoxicated drivers. One driver was not located, while a second incident ended in a pursuit after the driver nearly struck another vehicle. The suspect crashed into a ditch and a 38-year-old woman was arrested for DWI and multiple traffic violations before being taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center.
- Officers also responded to a person in crisis on Vine Street. The individual was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
- Several well-being checks were conducted throughout the evening, officers assisted the fire department with a fire alarm, and late Tuesday night officers responded to a residence on Jackson Street where a deceased person was found. The Livingston County Coroner’s Office was notified, and the investigation continues.
Wednesday
- Police made two arrests during the day. A 24-year-old man was taken into custody on a Livingston County warrant for violating an order of protection, and a 42-year-old man surrendered on a Ray County warrant, later posting bond and being released.
- Officers also investigated a report of threats, responded to several well-being checks, and handled three separate traffic crashes, including two non-injury two-vehicle accidents and one single-vehicle crash involving minor injuries. Following one crash, a 21-year-old woman was arrested for driving while suspended, and the other driver was cited for failing to yield.
- The evening concluded with officers assisting residents with property questions and answering calls regarding possible thefts.
