A crash involving a semi and a pick-up truck on US 36 near Kidded left one dead and two others injured Thursday morning. State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 9:05 am as a semi driven by a 27-year-old man from Coffey was westbound and a pick-up driven by an 87-year-old man from Kidder was northbound on Route J.
According to the report, the pick-up was in the crossover and entered the westbound lane of US 36 and was struck on the passenger side. The pick-up went off the north side of the road and struck several road signs. The semi crossed the median and eastbound lanes before coming to rest.
The pick-up driver was taken to Cameron Regional Hospital, where he later died of his injuries. His passenger, an 82-year-old woman from Kidder, had serious injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital.
