Chillicothe Fire Department’s large aerial truck, Ladder Two, is on its way home after a year of work to refurbish the truck from bumper to bumper. The 2004 Sutphen Tower Truck was sent to Alabama for the work, and Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter says they just returned from a final inspection.

Reeter says they chose to have the truck refurbished.
At a substantial savings compared to new.
The total estimate for the work by Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus was $720,698. The City Council approved a change order for painting the truck’s wheels for $4,880, for a total of $725,578. The Chief says there were savings from the estimate.
Company found savings of $35,000.
That brings the total cost to the fire department to just under $691,000.
The truck was loaded on a flatbed trailer and could be back in Chillicothe before the Labor Day weekend is over.
