The Missouri Supreme Court handed down a decision on an appeal for the decision to allow a permit to operate a CAFO, “Trenton Farms RE,” in Grundy County. Hickory Neighbors United filed the petition to review the findings of the Missouri Clean Water Commission and the permit issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. In a unanimous decision written by Judge Patricia Breckenridge, the Supreme Court of Missouri affirms the commission’s decision. The findings and decision of the commission decision regarding the CAFO’s protection from a 100-year flood are affirmed and the permit is allowed.
