The Livingston County Primary Election Ballot included four contested races, all on the Republican Ticket.
The race for Livingston County Sheriff was decided Tuesday. Two Republicans were on the ballot and Sheriff Steve Cox defeated his Challenger, Former Chillicothe Police Chief Richard Knouse. Cox had 3049 votes to Knouse’s 759
The race for Livingston County Eastern District Commissioner ended with Republican Alvin Thompson as the winner. The incumbent Alvin Thompson won with a vote of 1153 to Roger Barnes with 1037.
The Republican race for the Livingston County Collector/Treasurer was narrowed to just one. Diana Havens will continue on to the November election and will face Democrat Teresa Sykes. The vote totals were Diana Havens with 2881 and Kaley Holmes with 856.
The new Livingston County Public Administrator is Geri Curtis. Livingston County voters chose Curtis on a vote of 1878 over her opponent Whitney Ballard with 1671 votes. Curtis will fill the position currently held by Sherry Parks, who is retiring.
