As the fall hunting seasons approach, Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge announced they will be closing the auto tour route for three days. The refuge will be closed for the Managed Deer Hunt for Disabled Hunters. The dates are October 16th, 17th, and 18th.
The refuge will reopen on October 19th to the general public and be opened through October 25th.
The Refuge will close again beginning October 26th for the fall migration. The waterfowl hunting areas will be open to hunters during the Missouri Waterfowl season and permits are filled through the Swan Lake Waterfowl Draw Hunt.
The refuge will also host a Youth Managed Deer Hunt on November 6th to the 8th.
