The Chillicothe Hornets football season came to an end in a slugfest loss at Richmond 62 to 41.
The game resembled a football version of a heavyweight boxing title match as the teams traded touchdown blows for the first three quarters.
Richmond led 29-24 at the half thanks to two-point conversions. Richmond then scored on their first drive of the second half.
In the late third and fourth quarters the Spartans pulled away with three straight touchdowns.
Chillicothe was led by Demarcus Kelow with four touchdowns including a 65-yard run. Tucker Wagers and Gage Leamer also both had a touchdown.
Richmond was led by their Quarterback Keyshawn Elliott with four rushing touchdowns and threw three touchdown passes.
Chillicothe ends the season with a 3-8 record and Richmond moves on with a 8-1 record.
Richmond will host Maryville for the District Championship next Friday.
