CHS Takes Twin Bill From Macon

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets overcame a sluggish start to hand Macon their first loss of the season 48 to 40.  Chillicothe ended the first quarter on a 5-0 run to lead by two, and led the rest of the game.
Macon returned four starters from season’s state semi-final team.
Chillicothe Coach Darrin Smith said he was proud how his team guarded Macon’s returning all-state player Lexi Miller.

Chillicothe was led by Brooke Horton with 11 points, Jolie Bonderer with 10, Essie Hicks and Lucy Reeter each with eight, Jessica Reeter with six, Ellie Barnett with three, Selby Miller with two and playing time for Sophia
Luetticke.
With the win Chillicothe improved to 5-1 and Macon falls to 4-1.

Free Throws helped the Chillicothe Hornets basketball team to a 62-58 home win over Macon. Chillicothe was 18 of 24 at the charity stripe compared to Macon’s 4 of 6.

Chillicothe took their first lead with 5:16 left in the third quarter and never trailed again. Griff Bonderer hit two free throws with 18 seconds left and Wyatt Brandsgaard hit one of two with 7 seconds left to pick up the win.
Bonderer finished with 28 points, Hayden Simmer had 14, Wyatt Brandsgaard, Cayden Potter and James Mathew each had five, Mason Baxter with two and playing time for Eli Cross and Landon Winder.
