The MU Extension is offering a Private Pesticide Applicator’s Training, with eight classes planned for the region in the month of February. Andy Luke, MU Extension’s Field Specialist in Agronomy is planning the programs that will be announced soon.
In order for farmers to purchase or apply restricted use pesticides on property owned or rented by them, they must have a private pesticide applicator’s license. To obtain a private pesticide applicator’s license or renewing a license, requires attending a training class. You may also attend an online ZOOM Training session. Those sessions are scheduled weekly through March and are conducted by MU Extension offices across the state. To find the programs, search for Pesticide Application Training on the MU Extension website
You can also qualify by completing a self-guided training manual and submitting the completed study guide to the area Agronomy Specialist.
The video program in the extension offices is no longer available.
