The Chillicothe Lady Hornets cruised through the first round of the Class 4 District 16 tournament with a 55-16 home win over Richmond Saturday afternoon.
Chillicothe scored the first eight points of the game and led 21-1 at the end of the first quarter.
15 Lady Hornets saw playing time in the game. Jessica Reeter led the scoring with 19 points including five of seven from behind the three-point line.
Jolie Bonderer had 12, Essie Hicks with 8, Lucy Reeter with 5, Kinlei Boley with four, Selby Miller with three, Brooke Horton and Kayanna Cranmer with two each and playing time for Ellie Barnett, Sophia Luetticke, Clara Leamer, Cali Burkhardt, Delanie Kieffer, Bre Pithan and Izzie Montgomery.
Chillicothe’s defense held Richmond to no two-point field goals made in the game, going 0-for-9. They did make four of 21 treys and six of nine free throws.
Chillicothe heads to Benton for the Semi-Finals at 6:00pm on Tuesday. Benton is the #2 seed and had a first-round bye.
