The Chillicothe Hornets Baseball team scored early and held on to pick up a 3-2 win at Lawson.
Lawson scored one in the bottom of the first inning, but Chillicothe bounced back in the top of the second with a single, a walk, an RBI single from Landon Winder, a walk, a two RBI single from Griff Bonderer for a 3-1 lead.
It was a pitching dual after that, with Lawson scoring in the bottom of the fifth off a single, a walk and a ground out RBI from Lawson.
For Chillicothe, Gage Leamer picked up the win with Bonderer the save. The two combined to allow six hits, one earned run with 12 strike outs and six walks.
At the plate Bonderer, Brock Ward, Max Wagers, and Winder all had singles.
