The Chillicothe Municipal Utilities final budget for 2021/22 will be on the agenda for the Chillicothe City Council on Monday. The proposed CMU Budget includes Revenues of just over $15.5 million and Expenditures of just under $15.5 million. CMU General Manager Jim Gillilan says this is similar to the previous year.
Gillilan says they have one major Capitol project.
Other items include a bucket truck carried over from the previous year’s budget as it has not been delivered yet. They will also purchase a digger derrick used to set poles and lift heavy loads, including transformers.
Gillilan cautions that while they are not planning any rate increases, they are also waiting on the billing from the February Power Purchase that is expected to be significantly higher due to the polar vortex. Once that is received, the Board of Public Works will consider how those costs are covered.
