Mudcats Fall in 12 at Sedalia

The Chillicothe Mudcats squandered a 3-run lead in extra innings and lost 7-6 in 12 innings on Wednesday night in Sedalia.
The Chillicothe Mudcats jumped into an early lead over the Sedalia Bombers with a long two-run home run by Mudcats outfielder Josh Swinehart in the 1st inning.
Chillicothe Pitchers Scott Dressing and Koby Linder pitched very well, with Linder stealing the show in relief. He fired six shutout innings, striking out four.
The game would head to extra innings tied at 3, with the Mudcats eventually taking the lead 6-3 in the top of the 12th inning. The defense for the Mudcats would start to fall apart in the bottom half of the inning. Two errors in that inning, which included a dropped fly ball with that would have ended the game, would doom the Mudcats in this one. For the second straight game Chillicothe would go on to lose on a walk off single, 7-6 the final score in Sedalia.
The Mudcats are back in action on Thursday night in Joplin. KCHI’s pregame show starts around 6:50 with first pitch at 7:00.
