Mudcats lose in 7 innings

The Chillicothe Mudcats were on the wrong end of the MINK League ten run rule, losing 16-6 in 7 innings on Thursday night in Joplin.
The Mudcats start out the game up 2-0, with RBI singles from reigning MINK League player of the week Greyson Barrett and Chillicothe native Wes Brandsgaard. But Mudcats pitching could not seem to buy an out in this one. They would give up 16 runs in seven innings, with the game ending on the MINK League ten run rule.
It was the third loss in as many games for the Mudcats, who are in their longest road trip of the season.
The Mudcats will be back in action on tonight with another game in Joplin. KCHI’s pregame show starts around 6:50 with first pitch at 7:00.
