The Chillicothe Police Department report for the weekend includes nearly 100 calls for services. They include arrests adn accidents.
Saturday:
10:08 am, Officers responded to the 500 Block of Business 36 in reference to a two-car non-injury motor vehicle accident. Report taken and no vehicles towed.
10:14 am, Officer out in the 1300 block of Monroe Street on an investigation of identity theft. Report taken.
5:36 pm, An individual brought an ordnance item to the PD that they had found. The item was a non-viable hand grenade and it was received to be destroyed.
Sunday:
6:04 AM, Officers responded to a single-vehicle injury accident at the Walnut Street entrance at Simpson Park. Officers reported a juvenile driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the left side of Walnut Street, traveling into a creek. The juvenile driver and three juvenile occupants received minor to moderate injuries. The juveniles were turned over to their parents who sought their own treatment.
1:32 PM, Officers received a report of animal neglect in the 100 block of East Second Street. Officer spoke with the resident and any issues were resolved with the animal.
4:41 PM, Officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury accident at Washington Street and Business 36. Officers reported one vehicle failed to yield and struck another vehicle causing moderate damage to both vehicles. One driver was cited for failing to yield resulting in an accident.
5:09 PM, Officers conducted a traffic stop at US 65 and US 36 on a vehicle for speeding. During the stop, the driver’s actions raised the officer’s suspicions. The officer requested CPD K9 to respond. CPD K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A Probable Cause search, lead to the discovery of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and drug distribution equipment. The driver, a 54-year-old woman, was arrested for speeding, no insurance, distribution of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
