A changing the type of parking on a portion of Elm Street, from Ann to Third Street, was approved by the Council. The owner of the old Central School Property, Nathan Zabka, requested changing from parallel street parking to angled or perpendicular parking, similar to farther north on Elm Street. This would require the removal of the boulevard between the street and sidewalk.
Zabka told the council he is making good progress and hopes to have the first 10 apartments available for rent in September or October. That is about a year ahead of the requirements of the purchase contract with the school district.
