Livingston County Sheriff’s Investigations

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department investigated several incidents in the latter half of September.  Some of them include:

September 17th – Deputies responded to a location in Utica on a domestic assault call.  The reported victim could not recall where she was struck and had no visible markings.  Evidence seized included a wooden handrail, drug paraphernalia, and other items.  Deputies arrested 49-year-old Sean Peter Benavidez of Utica for alleged Domestic Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was processed and released.

September 18th – a Deputy responded to US 36 near LIV 255 for a vehicle on the side of the roadway with child(ren) in the car.  Investigation resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Amanda Renae Gene Denny of Liberty for alleged DWI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  She has since been charged with alleged Endangering the Welfare of a Child and remains in custody with bond set at $10,000.

September 23rd – The School Resource Officer filed a report on theft from a teacher at CHS by a student.

September 26th – Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle broken down on LIV 208 near US 65.  The Deputy arrived and found two adult men with the vehicle and obtained their personal information to check through the computer.  One of the men fled on foot and hid from the deputy.  The investigation led to the discovery of alleged drug equipment, a catalytic converter, an empty holster for a handgun, and evidence of littering.  The man was not located and is on probation/parole.  Both are from the Saline and Pettis County areas.

September 27th – Deputies began trying to help an adult who was having a mental health crisis at about 5:00 am and continued until after 7:00 pm  Late in the day they were able to obtain a 96-hour order to transport the subject to a different facility for evaluation and help.  A Crisis Intervention Team report was also completed and submitted to help with continuing services.
