The Chillicothe Junior Varsity basketball teams played Thursday night at Savannah.
The Lady Hornets JV won 28 to 18 and held Savannah scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Kayanna Cranmer led the JV Lady Hornets with 11 points, Delanie Kieffer with nine, Liz Oliver and Madison Albaugh each with three points and Izzie Montgomery with two.
The Savannah Junior Varsity boys beat Chillicothe 49 to 26. Ricky Wilson led the JV Hornets with eight points, Alijah Hibner with seven, Langston Johnson with six, Milo Costner with four and Ashton Baker with one.
The Varsity teams play tonight in Chillicothe in the annual “Jam The Gym” celebration.
The Lady Hornets are 16-4 but have lost back-to-back conference games. Savannah girls are 6 and 14 on the season. The Chillicothe boys are 14 and 5 and are the only MEC team still unbeaten in conference play. They are coming off four straight wins, including MEC wins over St Pius and Benton. The doubleheader starts at 6:00pm tonight at CHS High School.
Results from the semifinal games of the CLAA Tournament last night were
#2 Tina Avalon girls over #3 Higbee 55 to 50. Regan Crow led T-A with 21 points.
#1 Braymer girls over Brunswick 30 to 17. Rayleigh Hawkins led Braymer with 16 points.
#1 Higbee boys beat Northwestern of Mendon 64 to 48. Higbee’s top player finished with 28 points.
Hardin-Central boys over Braymer 55 to 34. Hardin-Central’s Mason Freece had 20 points to lead his team.
The Consolation games are tonight with the Girls at 4:30 and Boys at 6:00pm and the girls Third place game is 7:00 tonight.
Boys Third place game is Saturday at 5:00 pm, Girls championship is 6:30 pm and boys Championship at 8:00 pm
