Bonderer & Winder Lead Hornets To Victory

Chillicothe Basketball starters Griff Bonderer and Landon Winder provided a good one-two punch to help the Hornets improve to 16 and 7 with a 55 to 49 win at Marshall’s Senior Night.
Bonderer finished with 19 points and Winder had 17. Coach Tim Cool said Marshall was a better team than their 1 and 20 record.

A strong 16 to 4 second quarter helped Chillicothe take and keep the lead.
Griff Bonderer had 19 points and Landon Winder finished with 16. Langston Johnson had eight points. Jackson Trout scored seven, Alijah Hibner with five and playing time for James Mathew and Chace Corbin. Mathew finished with eleven rebounds. The Marshall Junior Varsity beat the Hornets 43 to 31.

The Hornets are the #3 seed in the district tournament. The Hornets host Savannah on Saturday the 26th. A Hornets win would put them into the semi-finals against #2 Benton on March 1st in the six-team district tournament.

Chillicothe girls and boys have home doubleheaders this week against Cameron Tuesday and Maryville Thursday. Chillicothe boys team wins would give them a share of the MEC title.
