The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball team jumped out to a 21 to 3 lead in the first quarter and went on to beat Marshall on the road Saturday 56 to 16 to improve to 20-4 on the season.
Coach Darren Smith said it was a good team win.
The Lady Hornets were led by Jessica Reeter with 15 points, Lucy Reeter with 12, Bre Pithan with nine, Jolie Bonderer with six, Delanie Kieffer, Essie Hicks, Ellie Barnett and Cali Burkhardt all with three points and Kayanna Cranmer with two.
The JV Lady Hornets won 53 to 37, led by 13 points from Keeley French.
In the Class 4 District 16 bracket, the Lady Hornets are the #2 seed behind top seed Benton. Chillicothe will have a first round bye in the six-team tournament and will play a semi-final game on the 28th at 7:00 pm against either third seed Lafayette or sixth seed Savannah.
