Missouri law requires all children under the age of eight years old be in a child safety or booster seat until they weigh 80 pounds or are over 4’9″ tall.
This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week. A couple of local agencies are performing checks to make sure the child safety seats and boosters in your vehicle meet requirements. Chillicothe firefighter Nathan Zabka says this is an important issue.
He says the Chillicothe Fire Department is hosting a child safety seat check Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Chillicothe Fire Station. The event is sponsored by the Chillicothe Fire Department and the Livingston County Health Center.
The event is free of charge
