A national quality award for the Chillicothe Airport Runway project was presented to the family of the late Airport Director Bill Keiffer. Ann and Billy Keiffer accepted the award from the American Concrete Pavement Association on behalf of the city. The presentation was made by a representative of HW Lochner, Ryan DaMetz.
It was noted in the presentation that the project meant a lot to Keiffer and he was able to see it completed before he passed away.
DaMetz says the runway project was a complete tearout and replace.
The project won a regional awared for Kansas and Missouri and the national SILVER Award from ACPA.
