Parking changes will be seen for this year’s Chautauqua In the Park, this Saturday and Sunday at Simpson Park. Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce director Crystal Narr says as always, parking for attendees is available in and around the park both on the streets adjacent to Simpson Park as well as Chilli Bay parking lot and the west Simpson Park lot.
There are a limited number of handicapped spaces available for those individuals with a handicapped license plate or official handicapped permit. Those needing handicapped parking for assistance should enter through the south Walnut Street gate.
The Park Center property management company has implemented a $5 fee to park in the parking lot directly across from Simpson Park during Chautauqua weekend this year with a portion of those proceeds going to Freedom City Ministries & Abba House Restoration Ministry.
Another transportation alternative is offered again this year. The shuttle service — made possible this year by Calvary Baptist Church & First Baptist Church – will be available SATURDAY from 10:00 am to 4:45 between a downtown parking lot and the east Washington Street entrance of the Park.
