Mary Fugate, 55, of Chillicothe passed away at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City on October 1, 2024.
Mary was born March 31, 1969 to loving parents, Milton and Deloris Davison. Family was everything to Mary, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially spoiling her grandchildren. She had a green thumb and took pride in caring for her plants, she enjoyed crocheting and was a passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Sunflowers and the beautiful fall colors were some of her favorite things, and she loved decorating her home for the holidays. Mary had faith in Jesus, and she embraced her Christian beliefs with love and kindness.
Mary is survived by her husband, Billy Fugate, her son, Terrance Smith, and Becca Myrick. Mary is also survived by her five grandchildren, Chance “Tucker” Smith, Ryker Smith, Mona Smith, Maycee Harper, and Kimberlynn Riddle. She is also survived by her brother, John Stefancik, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Deloris Davison; her three sisters, Paulette Stefancik, Carol Banes, and Susan Greenway; her niece, Sondra Smith; her great nephew, Thompson Stefancik, and close family friend, Luke Ireland.
A Visitation service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A Funeral service will follow on Monday, October 14th at 11 a.m. and will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence.
