Palma Jean Allen, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Jean was born on October 29, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Gilbert and Pauline (Norris) Prewitt. She was a 1948 graduate of Chula High School. On December 4, 1949, she was united in marriage to Vern Allen in Independence, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2014.

Jean was an ambitious woman. She was a farm wife, and a sales associate for Tupperware and Mary Kay. She gave food demonstrations, as well as worked at Churchills and Bond Wholesale. She liked helping friends, family and sometimes total strangers. Jean thoroughly enjoyed traveling, she visited 49 of the 50 states, having missed seeing Alaska. She also loved to play the Casino Quick Hits, solitaire on the computer and going fishing.

Jean was a member of the Chula Baptist Church, as well as several clubs, including the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #858, Busy Homemakers Extension Club, After 5 Extension Office, Old Time Thrashers and was a club leader of the Show Me 4-H Club.

She is survived by two sons, Vern Jr. (Dee) Allen, and Tim (Cherie) Allen; one daughter, Charlotte Allen; eight grandchildren, Shelly, Melody, Caleb (Anna), Charles (Mariel), Brady (Felicia), Chelsey (Matt), Foster, and Grace (Brad); twenty great grandchildren, Clayton (MaKenzie), Carter, Cassidy (Aaron), Jeffery (Jennifer), Anna, Rebecca (Clayton), Brittney, Amber, Austin, Henrey, Roman, Rory, Emily, Zachary, Karli, Baylor, Shelby, Nora, Parker and Lily; ten great-great grandchildren, Wesley, Addison, Isabella, Riot, Joanna, Jolene, Raelynn, Miguel, Myah and Arianna; one sister, Judy Bevelle and close friends, Gladys Bybee and Peggy Boon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern Sr.; sister, Sonja Prewitt; and grandson, Jamie Allen.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Friday, October 18, 2024, 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
