Charlotte Louise Lehnhoff

Charlotte Louise Lehnhoff, 78 of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri while holding the hand of her beloved husband.

Charlotte was born to Harry and Maxine (Sharp) Hudson on July 12, 1944, in Carrolton, Missouri. Charlotte graduated from Carrollton High School in 1961, attended Chillicothe Cosmetology School and was self-employed as a beautician. She married Larry Lehnhoff on September 15, 1964, and had 2 children: Lisa and Kent.

She volunteered as a church greeter for many years as she felt it was important to make all that attended church feel welcomed and accepted as they were and seeing the arriving children’s smiling faces and hearing their laughter brought her exceptional joy. She also volunteered at the Chillicothe Correctional Center with the Story Link program and in support of Larry’s ministry.

Charlotte was a very loved, special person to many people. She had a unique kindness about her, showing love and compassion toward everyone, no matter who they were. She was good to send cards out to friends and family for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions. She often gave homemade jam and jelly to her clients for Christmas, gave away her holiday candies to friends and family, and shared the bounties of her husband’s garden. She loved to travel with family, reading mysteries and christian love stories, and making quilts for the local foster children program.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Larry and children Lisa Yarbrough (Cleville) and Kent. Grandchildren: Calisa Yarbrough (Terrell), Natasha Randell (Reggie), John Yarbrough (Samantha), Cleville Yarbrough (Barbara), Helen Smith (Aaron), Samantha Yarbrough (Desire), and 21 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Sue Hood, her husband Steve and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded by her parents Harry and Maxine Hudson, Larry’s parents Melvin and Gladys Lehnhoff, sisters Barbara Cooper and Kathy Darby, an infant brother Harry Charles Hudson, and a great-grandson.
