A grass fire south of Chillicothe summoned firefighters Monday afternoon. The call came in at about 1:12 pm and the fire crew arrived in just under 20 minutes at the fire located at LIV 426 and US 65. Hale and Dawn fire departments also responded, giving a total of two tankers, 4 brush UTVs, and two brush trucks used to put out the fire. About 80 acres of pasture and timber were burned by the fire that was accelerated by the wind. Fire crews were on the scene for just under two hours. The cause of the fire is unknown.
