The Sullivan County April 8th Municipal Election will include several contested races for school boards, city and town councils and elected offices.
There are three ballot questions for Sullivan County residents.
For the Village of Pollock, voters are asked if they are in favor of maintaining the present tax rate for four years at 50 cents per $100 valuation for general municipal purposes.
For the City of Milan, they ask, Shall the City impose a local USE TAX at the same rate as the local sales tax? If the sales tax is raised or lowered, the use tax would change as well.
For Sullivan County Memorial Hospital – Shall Sullivan County impose a sales tax rate of ½ of 1% for economic development purposes, which will entirely consist of constructing, equipping, and furnishing a new Sullivan County Memorial Hospital campus? The tax, if approved, would have a sunset of 40 years.
