The federal REAL ID enforcement deadline of May 7th. In less than two weeks, a REAL ID will be required to enter nuclear power plants, access federal facilities, and to board federally regulated domestic flights. Missouri says a REAL ID is not mandatory, and a noncompliant driver’s license or ID card will continue to be an acceptable verification for age identity, driving privileges, voting and registering to vote, and other purposes not limited by the REAL ID Act.
You can apply for a REAL ID at any Missouri contract license office. You will need valid, original documents verifying your identity, lawful status, Social Security number, proof of residency, and official name change if needed. For a full list of acceptable documents, click here.
If you are unsure if you have a REAL ID, check your driver’s license. If there is a gold circle with a star in the upper right corner of the front face, it is a REAL ID.
