Less than 20% of Missouri is showing any sign of drought. The Missouri Drought Monitor shows nearly 83 percent of the state is not affected by drought conditions. The driest part of the state is the northern 1/3, north of the Missouri River.
Locally, Livingston and the surrounding counties are mostly drought-free, with Abnormally Dry conditions reported at the eastern edge of Chariton, Linn, and Sullivan County, the western edge of Caldwell County, and the northern edge of Daviess County, and far northwest Grundy County.
Moderate drought is shown in two pockets in both eastern and western north Missouri.
At this time last year, the dry areas were in the far southern part of the state.
