The Chillicothe City Council approved a personnel matter as part of the executive session for this week’s City Council meeting.
In the executive session, Police Chief Jon Maples presented a request to hire Tyler Lewis on the contingency that he passes the Law Enforcement Academy with a Class A POST License.
Under the contract, the city pays for Lewis to attend the law enforcement academy and when he graduates and passes his POST exam, he will be hired by the police department. Lewis is contracted to work for the department for 36 months. If he is unable to complete the contract, he would need to reimburse the city for the cost of the academy training.
