Lady Hornets Softball Clashes With Conference Rival Savannah

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets and the Savannah Savages entered Monday nights softball game as the last two teams in the MEC without a loss in conference play. Coach Rucker and the Lady Hornets played with a sense of urgency immediately to ensure they would end the night at the top of the standings. Chillicothe scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st and the Lady Hornets never allowed Savannah back into the game in a 5-1 road victory. Landry Marsh pitched all 7 innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 6 batters. Offensively the Lady Hornets had big nights from Marsh, Hope Donoho, Tori Stoner and Ellie Acree. Those four combined for all six hits, five runs and four runs batted in for Chillicothe in the win.

 

The Lady Hornets softball team is now 14-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play with another MEC game Tuesday at St. Pius.
