Donald “Donnie” Wayne Banks

Donald “Donnie” Wayne Banks, age 75, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, Missouri.

 

Donald was born the son of John and Martha (Willard) Banks on July 23, 1949, in Chillicothe, Missouri.  He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1967. He served in the United States Navy from 1967 until 1975.

 

Donnie worked for Mautino’s Cycle shop as a mechanic as well as Chillicothe Municipal Utilities at the power plant for many years. He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, playing water polo and golfing. He also enjoyed motorcycles and listening to Hank Williams.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Jean Myers of Chillicothe, Missouri and Jessica Rae Custer (Brian) of Burlington, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Taylor Seaman, Troy Seaman, Kathleen Gipe, Kirstin Custer and Morgan Custer; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Banks of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Marian Painter, of Chillicothe, Missouri; and partner in life, Candice Kennedy of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deanna Marie Banks; one granddaughter, Brianna Rae Custer; two brothers, Uncle Tom Philips and Ronald “Buddy” Banks; and one sister, Rae Banks.

 

Cremation was held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Kansas Cancer Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
