A Carrollton man appeared before a judge this week in Chariton County on a change of plea. 39-year-old Marty J. Bennett pled guilty to misdemeanors resulting from a plea agreement for alleged assault in the 4th degree, suspended sentence. Bennett has been placed on probation and parole for 2 years; a special condition was added that he complete anger management and parenting classes within one year and pay court costs.
Bennett was originally charged in January of this year by the Brunswick Police Department of alleged abuse or neglect of a child.
