Eighty-nine calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Wednesday.
Officers responded late Wednesday morning to an unattended child walking on the Polk Street Bridge. Officers picked up the child and, with help from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, located the parents, who lived outside the city. The child was returned safely.
Several arrests are in the report. A 40-year-old man was arrested for stealing following an investigation. He was processed and released pending a court appearance. . A 20-year-old woman was arrested after being unable to post a $750 bond on a warrant for DWI, marijuana possession and a vehicle equipment violation. A 57-year-old man was arrested on a probation-violation warrant from original charges of possession of a controlled substance. He posted a $20,000 bond and was released.
Wednesday evening, officers investigated a two-vehicle, non-injury hit-and-run crash at Calhoun and Locust Streets. An 18-year-old woman was arrested on allegations of driving without a valid license, leaving the scene of the crash, and failure to yield.
