Chillicothe School Resource Officer Program

The School Resource Officer Program for the Chillicothe R-II School District is now managed by the Chillicothe Police Department.  Police Chief John Maples says they have three SROs who have been preparing for the start of the school year.

Selecting the SROs and working with the building staff.

He says they have also developed policy, started working on programs, and communication technology.

Maples explains how the SROs will be used at each of the buildings.

Not discipline, but enforcement and investigation.

He says that is only about a quarter of the job…

Working and interacting with the staff and the kids.

Each of the SROs is a full police officer who has completed all the necessary training.  They have also completed SRO-specific training.  They will not only be responsible for what happens in the buildings, but will also be on hand for sporting events and other student activities.

The SROs assigned in the Chillicothe School District include:

Jennifer Plummer – CES

Andy Clark – CMS

Corporal Jared Hogan – CHS
