The request for a variance from City Code for the Chillicothe R-II School District’s Bus Parking area near the district office was approved. Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers presented the request to allow gravel in the area inside a three-sided structure where buses will be parked. City code requires a concrete floor within the building. Wiebers presented the request to the council.
Not have concrete in the building.
He says the concrete requirement would add more than $100,000 to the project over the gravel surface.
He says this area would only be for bus parking and would not be for service of the buses or storage of materials for the district.
The Request was approved with a vote of 3 yes. Councilman Dupy voted NO, and Councilman Yoko abstained as a school district employee.
