The increasing number of animal bites on properties in rural Livingston County prompted the Livingston County Health Center and the Sheriff to meet with the Livingston County Commission. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas explained the situation.
People invite the delivery drivers onto their property by placing orders.
Douglas says when a bite occurs, the animal is supposed to be quarantined for 10 days.
The Sheriff can enforce the laws concerning animal bites.
The Sheriff’s Department will be training an officer to handle animals in those situations, and in the meantime, they will work with the Chillicothe Animal Control.
A more detailed statement from the Sheriff’s Office, County Commission, and Health Center will be released in the coming days.
