A Cowgill man originally charged in Caldwell County court with alleged rape, child molestation, sodomy, and endangering the welfare of a child, forty-five-year-old Shane Franklin McBee, has had his case bound over to circuit court.
The updated list of charges includes:
- 4 counts of alleged rape or attempted rape – 1st degree
- 4 counts of alleged sodomy or attempted sodomy – 1st degree
- 1 count of alleged sexual trafficking of a child – 2nd degree
- 4 counts of alleged Statutory Sodomy – 2nd degree
- 2 counts of alleged endangering the welfare of a child – 1st degree
- 2 counts of alleged incest
These are alleged to have occurred from June 2025 to January 2026
McBee remains in custody at the Caldwell County Detention Center with no bond allowed. There are currently no court dates set for the case.
