The Missouri Emergency Response Commission has provided funding to Local Emergency Planning Committees and Districts from the Chemical Emergency Preparedness Fund.
Livingston County received $2,779,
Grundy County received $2,812,
And Mercer County received $2,118
The funds are to be used as follows:
- Operating a Local Emergency Planning Committee/District
- Contingency Planning for chemical release & exercising or evaluating plans
- Training & exercises related to chemical preparedness and prevention of accidents
- Identifying facilities required to report & public awareness information submitted
- Conduct a commodity flow assessment
The three counties are working together as a Local Emergency Planning District.
