MERC Funding For County Emergency Planning Committees

The Missouri Emergency Response Commission has provided funding to Local Emergency Planning Committees and Districts from the Chemical Emergency Preparedness Fund.

Livingston County received $2,779,

Grundy County received $2,812,

And Mercer County received $2,118

The funds are to be used as follows:

  • Operating a Local Emergency Planning Committee/District
  • Contingency Planning for chemical release & exercising or evaluating plans
  • Training & exercises related to chemical preparedness and prevention of accidents
  • Identifying facilities required to report & public awareness information submitted
  • Conduct a commodity flow assessment

The three counties are working together as a Local Emergency Planning District.
