Annual Poosey Driving Tour

The 39th Annual Fall Driving Tour at Poosey Conservation Area is Sunday.  The Missouri Department of Conservation will welcome visitors to the Poosey Conservation Area from noon until 4:00 pm, giving them a chance to enjoy fall color while touring on gravel service roads that are not normally open to public vehicle traffic.

Visitors will drive on winding lanes through forest and woodlands, following a tour brochure provided at the entrance.  The tour begins at Pike’s Lake and includes a few steep grades along with a slow pace and a few creek crossings. A vehicle with high clearance is recommended.

The interpretive stops will showcase conservation practices, and at a midway point, visitors will find exhibits on nature, conservation, and the Poosey area history.
