Missouri Drought and Local Rainfall

The latest Drought Monitor for Missouri shows less than half of a percent of Missouri is under extreme drought and about 42.5% is under Abnormally dry conditions.  22.7% is showing no drought.

In the local counties, Daviess, Linn, the southern part of Grundy, and northern Livingston Counties are Abnormally Dry, with most of Sullivan and the northern part of Grundy County showing Moderate Drought conditions.

Looking at Rainfall, in the past year, the National Weather Service reports that Chillicothe received 31.5 inches of liquid precipitation since April of 2025.  That is 7.9 inches below normal.

The long-range forecast for the area shows we will be above normal for temperatures and near normal for precipitation.
