Chariton County held a special election on Tuesday. The ballot item was Public Water Supply District 2 – Proposition 1 – to dissolve the district and sell the assets to Missouri-American Water Company
287 ballots were cast. There were 169 yes to 116 no votes. The proposition failed as it required 2/3 of the vote to pass.
