Chillicothe Annual Spring Clean-Up Begins

Chillicothe’s annual Spring Clean-up began this morning and continues this afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  The remaining dates include April 12th (this Saturday), 23rd, and 26th.  Hours are 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

As this is a program for the City of Chillicothe, you will be asked to show proof of residency in the city limits by showing a copy of your CMU bill.

CMU Operations Manager Casey Johnson says there are restrictions, including no hazardous materials, no brush, and no batteries.

Johnson says there is a charge for tires.

Passenger vehicle and small tires      $5     On Rim $15

Truck tires                                            $20     On Rim $35

Large tires                                            $40     On Rim $55

The Citywide Clean-up is held at the old transfer location on Mitchell Avenue.  Take Third Street east to Mitchell Ave, go south and cross the railroad tracks, then turn left at the first gate.

You will be responsible for unloading your items.
