Chillicothe Demolition Project

With funding for the Chillicothe Demolition Project approved through the Community Development Block Grant, the city is moving forward with the steps needed to start the demolition process.  City Administrator Roze Frampton says there are a couple of reasons the program is important to the community.

Clean up areas and affordability of the demolition.

The property owners who are approved will pay $500 towards the demolition and will keep their property.

Seventeen properties are identified for the program and the city is working to complete the paperwork and receive the payments from those individuals.

Frampton says there is no fixed timeline for the project.  The city will need to go out for bids on the demolition and asbestos abatement will need to be completed before demolition takes place.
