The Chillicothe Police Department report for Thursday included nearly 70 calls for service. The Calls include:
The most significant incident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. when officers responded to a motion alarm at a construction site in the 800 block of South Mitchell. Security cameras showed a man attempting to steal a forklift before fleeing when an audible alarm sounded. The investigation is continuing, and police say they’ve seen several recent thefts and attempted thefts, reminding residents to secure property and equipment.
Animal Control reunited a dog with its owner after it was found swimming in a backyard pool and also assisted with removing varmints from dumpsters at two locations.
Other calls included a neighbor dispute involving a loose dog, a commercial alarm that proved to be false, welfare checks, and extra patrols at Simpson Park after curfew.
