Seventy-nine calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Monday. Some of the calls include:
08:00 AM, Officers on patrol came in contact with a 50 year old man with a Michigan warrant in the 300 block of Edgerton Street. The man was arrested on an extraditable warrant out of Michigan for receiving stolen property with no bond allowed. . He was later released at the request of the requesting agency.
11:20 AM, the Police Department was notified by City Codes Officer of a tree falling on powerline – blocking both lanes of travel on Elmdale Rd. Street Department placed road closed signs and the homeowner was going to clean it up.
11:40 AM, Detectives following up with the Green County Sheriff’s Department to assist on a sexual assault case.
02:45 PM, Officers took a report of child abuse in the 1700 block of Calhoun Street. The child was moved to a safe location during the investigation. Officers arrested a 21-year-old man, who was taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center pending the filing of formal charges.
03:15 PM, Officers conducted follow-up on a fire in the 400 block of Calhoun Street. The reporting party wanted to report trespassing and stealing by his neighbors.
