Chillicothe R-II Receives $403,000 Grow Your Own Grant

The Chillicothe R-II School District is expanding its “Grow Your Own” Teacher Program, thanks to a $403,000 grant from the Patterson Family Foundation.  Chillicothe Superintendent Dr. Dan Wibers says this will allow them to expand their Pre-school Grow Your Own program to include students interested in becoming a teacher in grades K-8.

A lot of planning but would include classrooms.

Wiebers says Grow Your Own is what it sounds like.

Get them prepared before they head to college.

He says this is a two-year grant.

1st year for the planning and start the program in the 26/27 school year.

Wiebers says there is not enough time to put the program in place for the upcoming school year.
